The Richland Revives an Orange County Landmark

Two early-20th-century structures are transformed into a boutique hotel and events venue

The Richland has opened as a new luxury boutique hotel and event space in Orange County, California. Situated in the heart of Orange’s historic Old Towne, the intimate 12-room retreat transforms a historic former residence with laidback, inviting interventions. “We wanted to pay homage to the historic building but modernize it with a California twist with tons of personality,” says Raili Clasen of Raili CA Design, which led the redesign. “This design is fresh, fun, and simply the coolest hospitality project to hit the downtown historic plaza district.”
